Physical Therapist Assistant is a rewarding profession in the health care industry. This hands-on career involves interacting and aiding patients, playing a vital role in improving their quality of life physically and emotionally. Working under the supervision of a physical therapist, physical therapy assistants help patients recover from illnesses and injuries by providing various treatment programs. Physical therapy assistants help patients improve or restore mobility, relieve pain, or provide preventative treatments from physical disabilities and diseases. Exercises, massages, and ultrasounds are just some of the methods Physical Therapist Assistants will use to maximize the movement potential in their patients. Responsibilities also include recording treatment responses and results from patients to the physical therapist.
In as few as 80 weeks at Apollo College, you can earn your Associate of Science Degree in Physical Therapist Assistant. You will gain the training and learn the skills to work as a Physical Therapist Assistant in a variety of health care settings. Physical Therapist Assistants may work at rehabilitation centers, hospitals, nursing care facilities, physical therapy offices, or at other health care facilities.
